HELP!
We are well aware of what a great organization VNS IS, they've been helping many of us for several years. It's just unfortunate the way things turned out. No one faults them for trying to be conscientious in doing what they feel is best for their organization. It's just very disheartening to see even one household let alone nine fall through the cracks with the decision not to renew the grant that would keep them in their homes. Many of these folks have had their homes modified to help them live more comfortably & put in new heating systems, Wells, septic systems, etc and even a propane generator to help them breathe when the power goes out! These are not cheap items that still need to be paid off - nobody wants to be paying off loans that they have no use for anymore, right? Folks need to stay in their homes. If push comes to shove and we cannot get volunteers then we apparently will have to look more closely at Medicaid, bite the bullet, and give up everything we've worked hard for without leaving a few bucks for the people we care for because Medicaid will take everything. Thank you for your concern and if you would be so kind as to pass the word about this heartfelt endeavor, would be very grateful.
